CanSkate

A Learn-to-Skate program for school-aged children with little to no skating experience.

Our CanSkate program is geared towards children who have little or no skating experience. CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. Based on Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate as a recreational activity. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make each session active using teaching-aids, music and a wide variety of activities that create a fun environment that promotes learning. The Hillsburgh Erin Skating Club has been awarded the top CanSkate Excellence Exceeded Standard by Skate Ontario so you can rest assured, your Skater is in good hands!

Stages 5-6 are invited to join the PreSTARSkate program.  Please see the PreSTARSkate page for more information.
