If you’re looking to take your skating game to the next level with a high-energy program designed specifically for hockey and ringette players, PowerSkate is for you.
​
Focused on enhancing key skills like balance, control, agility, power, and speed, PowerSkate features progressive drills taught by NCCP-certified Skate Canada coaches to sharpen your skating in real-game situations.

By participating in these programs, skaters can expect to improve their skating technique, increase their speed and agility and develop the skills necessary to excel in hockey or ringette.

We welcome skaters from age 6 and up, but skaters must have previous skating experience as noted below. This program can be used in combination with hockey/ringette programming to improve upon fundamental skills.
*** Skaters may be moved sessions based on their ability and/or Coach recommendation. Please see below for minimum requirements.

** LowPower - Mandatory minimum skills: for skaters at least 6 years of age, who have a minimum of Stage 2 CanSkate experience or equivalent (including adaptive and sledge hockey stakers), have previously completed 1 PowerSkate session, or played at least 1 season of hockey/ringette Players must be able to comfortably skate the perimeter of the ice without their stick, push with both feet, skate forwards and backwards, stop, balance and glide on one foot. Participants must have hockey skates, gloves, stick and helmet. Full equipment is optional.

** HighPower - Mandatory minimum skills: for skaters at least 10 years of age with a minimum of Stage 4 CanSkate experience or equivalent (including adaptive and sledge hockey skaters). Skaters MUST have prior hockey/ringette experience and MUST be able to participate in faster paced, more advanced, full ice drills. Participants must have hockey skates, gloves, stick and helmet. Full equipment is optional.
